Ferias 2021: Our daily view of the beach, 30 August 2021

Today was just ... different. We headed for the beach just before noon on a lovely sunny day. There was no traffic at all on the walk to the beach, and ahead us was a clear blue sky. 

However, as we drew near the beach it became clear that there was a haze over the beach,  and we couldn't see the sea through the trees as usual. 

On approaching the clifftop that gives us our panoramic view of the beach all that confronted us was a thick sea fog. The beach itself was visible, but the sea was hidden behind the fog. We clambered down the cliff and set up our umbrellas. 

The beach was surprisingly warm, humid even, but we couldn't see the sea less than 30m in front of us. From the shoreline visibility was about 10m, as waves appeared out of the gloom and gently lapped against the shore.

We spent the next couple of hours relaxing on the beach and by mid afternoon the fog had burned away and we enjoyed a lovely day with warm water and calm waves. It was a creepy start though.
