The #FrugalFilmProject: Barely Expired Lomography Redscale and the flipped lens Agfa Clack, 27 September 2023
Apart from digital aerochromes with the Samsung Digimax U-CA3, my main focus yesterday was to put a roll of Lomography Redscale film through an Agfa Clack.
With all of the Agfa Clacks for the #FrugalFilmProject, I've been having problems with 'fat' rolls using Fomapan Retro and I wanted to see if the same thing happens with a different make of film. A 'fat' roll is when the film and paper of a 120 roll isn't wrapped tightly around the take-up spool. The paper protrudes from the edges of the spool and you can get light leaks.
So I took the flipped lens Agfa Clack loaded with barely expired (March 2023) Lomochrome Redscale to the Parque de Infante Dom Pedro. After completing the film, I took it to the Forever Blue photo lab in Aveiro. Of course it was a 'fat' roll, but this time it wasn't too bad with light leaks and I've discovered the 'sweet spot' for focus with the flipped lens is somewhere between 2m and probably 5m.
