A real contender for circuit bending, the Kodak Easyshare CX7310 Digital Camera, 06 November 2023
Although I have a number of digicams for circuit bending, like the HP Photosmart R817 or the Konica Minolta DiMAGE G400, I always find something about them that I want to keep. The HP for instance has a lovely infrared response and the DiMAGE model was one of my first digital cameras so I couldn't lose that, for sentimental reasons.
But I'm still on the lookout for a camera that I won't mind losing, and the Kodak Easyshare CX7310 that has been hanging around on the Kamerastore website for a few weeks might just be it.
The Easyshare CX7310 is as simple a digital camera as ever there was. A 3,2MP digital camera with a single fixed 35mm lens, it was launched in around 2004. Originally it came with a charging dock that doubles as a printer and the selling point was that with the Easyshare taking and sharing images was simplicity itself. Hence the name, I guess.
The weather has been pretty awful these past few weeks and Portugal and most of Europe has been victim to some ferocious storms. Today, marking the arrival of the Easyshare, the weather was mixed with shattered showers as Storm Domingos passed across the country.
While the lunch was cooking I mounted the Easyshare onto a mini tripod, grabbed the little wallet of colour filters and headed across the road. After setting the camera to black and white mode I took photographs of my favourite tree and well with red, green, blue, and infrared filters. Back at the house I assembled the images into trichromes and aerochromes.
