Just a walk around the block with the supposedly glitchy Canon Powershot G12
After a few cloudy days it was a nice and partially sunny afternoon so I decided it was an opportunity to take the the supposedly glitchy Canon Powershot G12 out for a walk in the woods and fields behind our house. Of course the main thing I wanted to do was to make trichromes and digital aerochromes using red, green, blue, and infrared filters, and the windy day also offered a chance to see how the G12 coped with making trichromes with elements moving around in the breeze. Mind you, I'm coming to the conclusion that I shouldn't really be calling this camera 'supposedly glitchy' as to date it's shown none of the glitchiness described on the Kamerastore website and indeed is proving to be one of my favourite cameras.
I also took some colour infrared images for channel swapping. In GuIMP photo editor I swapped the colour data in the red and blue channels. I had discovered on my previous outing that the channel shifted images were really nice, but when it was slightly cloudy the images had a strong blue tinge. This time they all came out wonderfully.
